Five people or fewer pay nothing. From the sixth person, everyone needs a paid seat, including the first five.
What a seat covers
One person
A seat is one person’s DreamCoder account, and it can’t be shared. If three people use the same installation, that’s three seats.
Up to five installations
Each separate installed copy counts, including development, testing and staging copies. A stopped installation still counts; an uninstalled download or a backup you’d have to restore doesn’t.
The payer doesn’t need one
Whoever orders can take a seat or not. You invite people by email, and they can take the seat with an account they already have under another address, such as joe+work@ instead of joe@.
How billing works
- Price
- $20 per seat a month, in US dollars. Prices don’t include VAT.
- VAT
- UK buyers pay 20%. EU businesses with a valid VAT number pay none; the invoice notes the reverse charge. Other EU buyers pay their country’s rate. Everywhere else, no VAT.
- Payment
- Card only. Enterprise orders are invoiced and paid by bank transfer.
- Renewal
- Automatic, every month on the day you ordered, until you cancel. Every receipt links to where you can stop it.
- Adding seats
- Free until your next renewal, then billed with the rest.
- Removing seats
- Takes effect at your next renewal.
- Cancelling
- Any time, from your admin page. Charges stop at once and your seats work until the end of the month you’ve paid for. There are no refunds for part months.
- Admin page
- Sign in with a link we email you; there’s no password. From there you invite people, change your seat count, update your card and cancel.

Does Pro unlock extra features?
No. DreamCoder is the same app on Free and Pro. Pro is the licence a business needs once more than five people use it.
Who counts towards the five?
Everyone who uses DreamCoder for your business, employees and contractors alike, whoever holds the account and whatever machine they use. People across companies you control, that control you or that share an owner with you all count together.
Is personal use really free?
Yes, with no limit on numbers. Personal use means your own non-commercial projects. Work for an employer, a client or any organisation is business use.
What happens if we stop paying?
Your seats work until the end of the month you’ve paid for. After that, everything in DreamCoder keeps working except talking to AI models. Your data is stored locally, in a database on your own machine.
What if a payment fails?
We try the card once more a few days later and email you a link to update it. If it still hasn’t gone through a week after the renewal date, the subscription lapses and you can order again. We never charge for a month you didn’t have.
Does DreamCoder need the internet?
Your licence is issued when you create an account and renewed automatically over the internet from time to time.
